Description
Foundations II: Character Building
Prerequisite: Foundations I
Led by: Amber DuPuy
Next class: TBA
Foundations II builds on the skills developed in Foundations I and introduces the actor to the process of creating a specific, believable character.
Students learn how to research a character, ask useful character questions, develop imagination and sensory awareness, explore physical life, and prepare emotionally for the work.
The goal is to move beyond simply understanding the story and begin developing the tools to build someone other than yourself.
Through exercises, preparation and scene work, students learn to make increasingly specific choices and connect those choices to the circumstances of the story.
This class requires Foundations I as a prerequisite.
Class dates and registration will be posted when the next session is scheduled.
